The sky is the color of a deep blue void, and the world is permeated by a luminous crimson haze. The lone warrior stands at the precipice, among the graveyard of a thousand swords of light.
A VOICE FROM THE DARKNESS:
Do you feel like a heroine yet?
STAR-CROSSED WARRIOR:
A dead witch should not speak.
A VOICE FROM THE DARKNESS:
And yet I am here because your mind would break otherwise, my beloved.
STAR-CROSSED WARRIOR:
Let the living render judgement.
A VOICE FROM THE DARKNESS:
And what judgement dost thou contemplate against the World, my star-crossed knight?
STAR-CROSSED WARRIOR:
I want to break it all. Tear this engine asunder.
A VOICE FROM THE DARKNESS:
Shattering the stellar core will only revert the entropic cycle, Knight. That is but a trap, and you know this. You must instead turn the key, and unlock the veil behind this cursed Eternity once and for all.
STAR-CROSSED WARRIOR:
If I do this, will I see you again, at the End of Eternity?
A VOICE FROM THE DARKNESS:
Once the threshold is crossed, the Undivine Dreamer will awaken from this begotten dream. There is no you. Nor me.
STAR-CROSSED WARRIOR:
Then why tolerate such folly? I will prefer to wallow in this web of waking nightmares. This empty World that has denied me of you does not deserve its respite.
A VOICE FROM THE DARKNESS:
Beloved Knight, you must forget my name. I have accepted this truth a thousand times. You must share this burden. This is the price of awakening.
STAR-CROSSED WARRIOR:
Then let my Sword witness my Primordial Sin. I am called the Knight of Emptiness, and I deny this World from the Precipice of Heaven. Entropy itself will be the veil to shelter my guilt, and I shall harbor this peaceful dream. I shall see you again.
