We no longer remember the age that preceded the Devouring of Heaven, when the stars were unmade and swallowed whole by the Origin Beast Kuromega.

We, the Remnants, only know that the world ended aeons ago, and we are all that remained of humanity that had undertaken an exodus into the Void Worlds orbitting the artificial sun Ataraxia: a mockery of life in exile.

It is said that before the sky went dark, there was Order in Heaven, under the watchful Thousand Eyes of Isame. Perhaps we still aspire for this fleeting memory of Order amidst the inevitable Entropy, whose dark shores will welcome us like driftwood in the Void Ocean.

In search of this Order, we have decided to crown the wisest among us -they who will lead us out of the Ocean of Darkness- with the holy name “Akyros Dorothea”. Those who ascend to this role abandon the weight of their former selves to become the Akydoron.

The Remnants are cognizant of mortality, and even the Akydorons, in their infinite holiness, will fall to the onward march of time. Hence, the Akydorons need successors, and each of them are numbered by sequence of ascension. Thus, Akydoron XIII, the current governess of our homeworld Amaran in the city of Eidenfall, marks the thirteenth instance of Ascension of the Akydoron.

Each Akydoron Ascent is preceded by the Rite of Unburdening, conducted by the Void Priests of Eidenfall. The candidate is placed into a deep slumber, to induce a dream of future sight. In that holy dream, a symbol always appears to define the Akydoron’s fate.

And from that symbol, we invoke a holy name. For Akydoron XIII, the dream symbol yielded the enigmatic name: “Lilium Yin.”

The details of the dream that produced the 13th Akydoron’s name was never disclosed to the public record, sealed away under claims of ill omen by the Void Priests. Hence, unlike the Akydoron that preceded her, Lilium Yin has rejected her dream-name, and she has personally requested that the description of her ascencion dream be culled from her record.

Thus, in formal address, we simply revere her as The Akydoron. -Void Priest Exia, Excerpt From “Book XIII of The Akydoron Ledger: The Record of Lilium Yin”
